Our Process
Onboarding
Welcome to Lauren Mallon Interiors! At this step in the process, you may have completed our inquiry form. We will contact you within 24 hours to schedule an introductory call and give you more information about us, answer any questions you may have and discuss your project.
We will also schedule a complimentary in-person meeting with our principal designer, Lauren Mallon. Your meet and greet with Lauren will include reviewing the scope of the project, a general timeline and recommended investment.
The final step in the onboarding process is making it official! We will provide you with a copy of our services agreement and once signed, it’s time to get to work designing your dream home.
Planning & Conceptual Design
The Planning & Design phase sets the foundation for your home, guiding every decision from concept to presentation. We begin by meeting at your home or virtually to discuss the full scope of your project. Together, we review inspiration images, develop a wish list, and refine the overall vision. We will take site measurements and document any pieces you wish to incorporate into our designs. We ensure that every want and need can be thoughtfully integrated.
With our shared vision in hand, we help to assemble a team of experts to bring it to life. We review architectural plans, establish a furnishings budget, and define the design direction. During this stage, we also select essential elements such as plumbing fixtures and appliances, ensuring that all functional and aesthetic decisions support the overarching vision.
Specification & Design
During this phase, we select every element that brings our ideas to life—from furnishings, rugs, cabinet hardware and window coverings to art and accessories. We carefully select the smallest details too, from pillow inserts to candlesticks and everything in between.
We bring your design to life through a curated design presentation. Each room will include at least two design options for you to see, touch, and feel. Our collaboration truly begins here—we fine-tune designs, provide additional samples and options as needed, and document final decisions to create a cohesive, comfortable, and functional home.
We take time and meticulous care to document each selection, check sizing and scale of each piece, specify finishes and custom fabrics, and verify all details on vendor quotes match our expectations. Once selections are finalized, we obtain quotes, place orders, and track every item closely.
Project Management & Procurement
During the Project Management and Procurement phase, we oversee the implementation of our designs to keep the project on track, avoid costly delays, and deliver a specific vision. We communicate regularly with vendors, contractors and tradespeople and conduct regular site visits. On site, we review details such as custom millwork and cabinetry details, tile and stone installation, and stain finishes.
We track every item we have purchased closely, staying in regular communication with vendors to meet important deadlines. As items arrive, we receive, inspect, and organize them, ensuring everything is ready and perfectly coordinated. This meticulous approach guarantees a seamless, stress-free process and prepares everything for a smooth and seamless installation day!
Installation
Install week is when your home truly comes to life. With construction complete and tools put away, we bring every detail together—from window coverings and wallpaper to furnishings, art, and mirrors.
This is when the magic happens: we make beds, steam linens, fluff pillows, fill apothecary jars, style books, and place every finishing touch just so. Hanging art, arranging accessories, and setting every piece perfectly—our goal is to make sure your home feels exactly as you envisioned.
You’ll see your vision come alive on install day, and it’s all hands on deck to make the experience seamless, exciting, and fun!
Wrap-Up
We made it! In the final phase of the project, we will do a site-walk with you to make sure you are happy with the final outcome and create a list of any miscellaneous items that need to be addressed after installation day. We will provide you with a paint and lighting schedule, as well as any special care instructions for furnishings. Last but not least, we love to document our completed projects with a professional photography session.
